An Introduction To Wizlay [WIP]

Wizlay Repository

What is wizlay?

Wizlay is a Gentoo Overlay maintained by me.

Installing wizlay

The git repository is available on Github:

https://github.com/MerlijnWajer/wizlay

And the overlays.xml can be found here:

http://wizzup.org/overlays.xml

The overlays.xml file is available in the git repo, but using layman to retrieve the file from github doesn't work - yet. So for now it is hosted on wizzup.org instead.

Installing wizlay

You'll need to make sure the last part of your layman.cfg looks like this:

#-----------------------------------------------------------
# URLs of the remote lists of overlays (one per line) or
# local overlay definitions
#
#overlays : http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/overlays/repositories.xml
# http://dev.gentoo.org/~wrobel/layman/global-overlays.xml
# http://mydomain.org/my-layman-list.xml
# file:///var/lib/layman/my-list.xml

overlays : http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/overlays/repositories.xml
            http://wizzup.org/overlays.xml

And then run layman -s ALL to update your overlay list.

Adding wizlay is then no more complicated than calling layman -a wizlay.

To verify you have added the wizlay, run layman -l:

* wizlay                    [Git] (git://github.com/MerlijnWajer/wizlay.git)

And it should list wizlay (along with your other repositories)

Wizlay's Overzup Packages

At the moment, the only package in wizlay is =dev-lang/fpc-2.4.4.

Projects like pyroTorrent will follow later.

Free Pascal Compiler (=dev-lang/fpc-2.4.4)

The latest Free Pascal Compiler in wizlay is at version 2.4.4.
